About Us

Braw Fox Theatre is led by Amy McKenzie and Jo Rush.

We specialise in creating new work and have a strong track record of producing new writing at the Fringe, grassroots level, and on tour in Scotland.

We seek to tell exciting stories inspired by and reflecting the human condition, producing new work by playwrights and theatre makers with something bold and urgent to say about the world.

CreateWorks

This project centred on engineers using drama as a means to understand the human aspects of their research. Jo & Amy led the participant engineers through a series of writing workshops exploring the use of story and performance as a means to engage non-academic audiences with their research.

14 brand new short audio plays were produced by the participants, professionally recorded and shared publicly as part of Edinburgh Science Festival 2021.

Previous Projects

Design by Disaster

A bold new play about risk and responsibility created with playwright Dave Fargnoli, in association with the University of Edinburgh.

Delivered as a site-specific promenade performance with sound design by Calum Paterson - the play follows a Survivor and an Expert through the aftermath and enquiry into a deadly fire.
